Showroom Consultant - Gladstone
Gladstone, Queensland | Full-time
Inspire. Guide. Create beautiful spaces.
An established national business supplying the building and residential products sector is seeking a customer-focused Showroom Consultant to join its Gladstone team.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, has a natural eye for detail and takes pride in helping people make confident purchasing decisions.
You’ll work with a diverse customer base, taking the time to understand their needs, guide them through suitable product options and deliver a professional, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful showroom experience.
This isn’t about high-pressure selling. It’s about understanding what the customer is trying to achieve, asking the right questions and helping them bring their project together.
What you’ll be doing.
As a Showroom Consultant, you’ll manage customer enquiries from the initial conversation through to product selection, quoting and order follow-up.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming customers into the showroom and understanding their project requirements, preferences and budget.
Providing advice across a wide array of products.
Helping customers compare options and select products that work together.
Preparing quotes, processing orders and following up customer enquiries.
Building strong relationships with a diverse range of customers and industry contacts.
Maintaining regular contact with customers throughout the purchasing process.
Developing strong product knowledge so you can provide increasingly confident advice.
Contributing to showroom presentation and maintaining a professional customer environment.
Working closely with the wider branch team to provide a seamless customer experience.
Identifying opportunities to grow sales while maintaining a service-led approach.
What we’re looking for
Previous experience in showroom sales, building products or a related customer-facing environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
We’re more interested in finding someone with strong customer service, sales capability and the willingness to learn.
You may currently work in areas such as:
Showroom sales | Furniture | Tiles | Flooring | Kitchens | Bathrooms | Home improvement | Hardware | Building products | Retail sales | Interior products
You’ll likely be a strong fit if you:
genuinely enjoy working with customers;
can build rapport quickly with different types of people;
are confident asking questions and understanding customer needs;
have a consultative approach to sales rather than a transactional one;
are organised and comfortable managing several customer enquiries at once;
pay attention to detail and follow things through;
are comfortable preparing quotes and working with computer systems;
enjoy being part of a practical, down-to-earth team; and
are willing to learn a broad product range.
Experience dealing with customers making higher value purchasing decisions would be particularly valuable.
Why consider this opportunity?
This is an opportunity to join a well-established national organisation with a strong presence across the broader building and residential products market.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop substantial product knowledge, work with a diverse customer base and build skills that can lead to future opportunities across sales, branch operations, account management and leadership.
For someone who enjoys helping customers and wants more depth than a traditional retail role, this offers a strong combination of customer service, product knowledge and relationship-based sales.
Ready to apply?
You may already have experience in showroom sales, building or residential products, or you may be a strong customer service or sales professional looking for your next opportunity.
What matters most is your ability to connect with customers, understand their needs and help them make confident purchasing decisions.
If you enjoy helping customers turn ideas into practical solutions, we’d like to hear from you.
